Celebrating Four Years of News in Motion!
We’re thrilled to announce that next week marks the fourth anniversary of News in Motion! It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re grateful for your continued support.
As many of you know, I will be taking a much-needed two-month break. During this time, News in Motion will pause from June 24 to July 8, returning on July 9 with our special "Young People Takeover" segment, hosted by the talented Lexi and Isiah. Don’t miss the chance to support these amazing young voices throughout July.
I’ll be making a special appearance on July 18 to provide a recap of the Republican National Convention, which begins on July 15. Although the main event and keynote speaker won’t be until the evening of the 18th, I celebrating my 59th birthday on July 19 and will not be live with any political updates.
Lexi and Isiah will continue to bring you News in Motion Tuesday - Thursday throughout July. Please cheer them on, support their efforts, and enjoy their unique and fun approach. We’ll take a full break in August, which means, no News in Motion, and will return on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, ready to dive into crucial topics like voting, voter registration, ballot measures, candidates, and more as we gear up for the November 5, 2024, elections.
What’s next for News in Motion after the elections? You’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
In the meantime, please note that there will be a few Friday Rundowns in July but none in August. Enjoy the summer break, support our young hosts, register to vote, and stay safe!

From the Desk of Gail Dudley, The Audacious Advocate:
As I shared on News in Motion, staying formed and engaged with the news cycle is crucial for voters to make educated decisions. Here are five steps voters can take to stay ahead:
- Subscribe to Reputable News Sources: Regularly follow established and credible news organizations. Subscriptions to newspapers, news apps, or newsletters from trusted outlets ensure consistent access to reliable information.
- Set News Alerts: Use news apps or services to set up alerts for breaking news and topics of interest. This helps keep track of significant developments as they happen.
- Engage with Multiple Perspectives: Consume news from a variety of sources, including those with differing viewpoints. This broadens understanding and reduces the risk of echo chambers.
- Follow Expert Analysis: Identify and follow experts, journalists, and analysts on social media platforms. Their insights and commentary can provide deeper context and understanding of complex issues.
- Join Discussion Forums and Community Groups: Participate in online forums or local community groups where current events are discussed. Engaging in discussions can provide new perspectives and encourage critical thinking about news topics.
