The Friday Rundown with Gail

The Friday Rundown

Joyful Friday!

This week’s update is brief but important. Please note, there will be no Friday Rundown on July 5th. The highlight of this week's news is the application process for the Spring 2025 session of the White House Internship Program. In addition, you'll find information on top retirement destinations, travel tips, a book recommendation, and a movie pick.

Two more quick items before I let you go. First, Monday, July 1, begins my birthday month. I will turn 59 on July 19, and I need your help. I’ve decided to explore different areas of Central Ohio and become a tourist in my hometown. What are some must-see spots, local eats, and fun activities I should check out? What do you do when you're getting to know your city better now that there are a lot of changes? Central Ohio is constantly growing, with new buildings popping up every week, so I’m excited to embark on this adventure. You can follow along on my Instagram @GailDudley. If you’d like to buy me a coffee, donut, egg whites, or a mimosa to celebrate, my CashApp is $NIMToday. HA! (Just joking, maybe).

Secondly, we have July 4th sandwiched between two weekends. Enjoy and be safe.

Enjoy the Rundown!

~ Gail

July 4th Travel

As reported by Travel Noire, the United States is expecting record-breaking travel. The article states, "an estimated 70.9 million will travel farther than 50 miles, and 60.6 million of them are projected to go by car. Moreover, 5.74 million travelers are expected to fly." So let's prepare.

The Travel Book

I’m sure you can tell, we’re leaning heavily on the travel side for this issue of The Friday Rundown. It's summertime, which for many people means vacation time. Plus, it’s never too early to start looking for places to travel in 2025.

Inside Out 2

You might think I’ve lost it, but not yet. This movie has a powerful line between joy and anxiety. Since the pandemic, anxiety has taken a toll on many people. Today, I speak healing and deliverance. Yes, even in this diverse newsletter. By now, you know I am a believer, and I don’t apologize for being my authentic self. Check out this movie if you haven’t already. Look up your local theater listings for details.

Well, since I mentioned being my authentic self as a believer and the importance of healing and deliverance, this is the perfect time to share an exciting event: the Esther by Design retreat, happening August 9-11, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio.

I am inviting all of you to join me. Recently, during a moment of prayer, I felt a strong urge to reach out to women who have supported me at retreats, conferences, small groups, and women’s day worship services. I want to gather in Dayton, Ohio, to support Pastor Denise Carpenter and her ministry, Esther by Design.

Here's the message I sent to over 300 women individually:

"I've prayed about this as I prepare to minister at the upcoming retreat. I would be honored if you joined me. I am the opening evening preacher and would love to have as many women who have attended retreats, conferences, women’s day worship services, or speaking engagements with me since 2000 to be alongside me for this retreat. Won’t you join Pastor Denise and me as we prepare to Enter The Gates? I promise you, you will leave renewed, refreshed, revived, and refueled."

I hope to see you there!
